Spuddys Anomaly Bad Reviews — the Failure Metric

The developer wrote exactly one rule into the game's description, and put it in caps: "DO NOT GET BAD REVIEWS."Everything else — the anomaly checks, the classes, the bat — exists in service of that line. Here's what's confirmed about how reviews work, and how to keep a shift clean.

What confirms the Spuddy's Anomaly bad reviews system, and the five habits that keep a shift clean
0.11%of players have earned "Flawless"

Complete 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews3,142 players out of the 2,816,761 who have finished at least one shift.

That is roughly one player in nine hundred. It is the clearest evidence available that a clean shift record is genuinely hard rather than merely fiddly — and it is why the five habits below are worth building early rather than after your first bad run.

Where these numbers come from.Roblox's own public badge counts for Spuddy's, read on 2026-07-26, divided by the 2,816,761players who hold "New Recruit" — the badge for completing a single shift. Badges are awarded once per player for life, not once per run, so these say how many people have ever done a thing, not how often it happens.

What confirms the Spuddy's Anomaly bad reviews system

The official description

The game's one-line description ends: "...and DO NOT GET BAD REVIEWS." — the developer's only stated rule, in caps lock. That's the failure metric named by the source itself.

The Flawless badge

"Complete 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews" — official confirmation that bad reviews are counted per player and that a zero-review streak is the game's defined perfect run.

Gameplay footage

Bad reviews visibly land during play in recorded runs (e.g. WatchMeWin's early playthrough shows one hitting around the 8-minute mark) — they're an in-shift event, not just an end screen.

Five ways to keep a shift clean

1. Check before you serve

The core judgment is serve vs. don't-serve. A quick look — face, table, camera feed — before committing costs seconds; a wrong call costs a review. The Anomaly Checker maps what to look for.

2. Learn the confirmed responses first

Feed the Table Monster, bat the Mimic, save attacked customers — those three are badge-confirmed. Getting a confirmed interaction wrong is the most avoidable kind of mistake.

3. Don't neglect normal customers

Anomaly paranoia has a cost: real customers you refuse or ignore are the other obvious review risk. Most customers are normal — serve them.

4. Manage your Energy

Per Sportskeeda's guide, Energy is the resource that keeps you acting; several classes exist purely to refund it. Running dry mid-rush is how avoidable mistakes happen.

5. Bring a crew

The Teamwork badge (shift 20 with 3+ players) is developer-endorsed strategy: more eyes on faces, tables and cameras means fewer missed anomalies.

Exact review triggers aren't officially documented — these tips are built from the confirmed loop, not an invented rulebook. We'll sharpen them as mechanics get verified.

How the failure metric actually works

Bad reviews are the failure metric. The developer put that in caps in the store description; the Flawless badge proves they are counted; recorded runs show them landing mid-shift, not only on an end screen. Two layers sit on top of that, and they are not the same counter:

  • Inside a shift: reviews land as you play. Stack enough of them and the shift is lost. The official material never publishes the exact number that fails a shift, so this page will not invent an N.
  • Across shifts, for Flawless: you need 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews. One review anywhere in that run costs the badge. That is a separate, longer counter from whether the shift you are in currently survives.

Wrong calls still feed both layers: serving a Face anomaly, skipping a Table Monster feed, ignoring a Path-Blocker until the rush collapses, refusing a normal customer. The Anomaly Checker is the judgment aid; this page is the scoreboard those calls write to.

Customer death deducts rating

If a customer dies, the rating takes a hit. That is not flavor. It is why the Savior badge exists — official condition Save a customer from an Anomaly — and why you do not finish an order while an attack completes on the floor. Death deducts the thing the developer put in caps.

Intervene when a customer is under attack. The badge list does not name which anomalies deal the killing blow, and it does not publish a way to force the encounter on demand. Let the attack finish and the rating moves against you; step in and the save is badge-confirmed. For Flawless, a death is as fatal to the sheet as any other review.

Flawless — 20 clean shifts, as a run

Official condition: complete 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews. The badge text does not say whether that is your first 20 or any clean run of 20, so treat every early shift as if it counts. About 0.11% of players who finished a first shift have it — and about a quarter of those who reached Shift 20 at all.

  • Learn the check before you hunt the sheet. The how-to-play ladder is steepest in shifts 1–10, where most players eat a first review. A Flawless attempt still learning Face vs. Table on shift 3 is usually over before it starts.
  • Deaths and refusals both count. A customer death deducts rating — intervene, do not trade a rescue for one more plate. Refusing normal guests is the other obvious review. Serve the default; feed, bat, or save only when the family calls for it.
  • Claim it by hand. After the 20th clean shift, open the badge menu. Conditions do not auto-award, and the claim pays Gems.

A crew helps: Teamwork is shift 20 with 3+ people, so a careful run with two friends can bank both badges. Servers hold 25; keeping the same three is the actual work. See the shifts guide for how Shift 20 sits on the ladder.

What "Flawless" tells you about how the system counts

The badge description is doing more work than it looks: complete 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews. Three things follow from that wording, and none of them require a single rumour.

  • Flawless is a 20-shift zero, not a single clean night. The badge asks for twenty shifts with 0 bad reviews, which only makes sense if the sheet is checked across them — on top of the in-shift failure metric above.
  • Zero is reachable. A badge nobody can earn is a bug, and 3,142 accounts hold this one — so a perfect record is possible rather than theoretical.
  • It is genuinely hard. 0.11% is about one player in nine hundred. For comparison, 0.42% have simply reached Shift 20 at all — so of the players who get that far, roughly a quarter did it clean.

That last comparison is the useful one. Reaching Shift 20 is the hard part; keeping the record clean while you do it is a smaller additional ask than the raw 0.11% suggests.

FAQ

  • How do you get bad reviews in Spuddy's Anomaly?

The game doesn't publish exact triggers, but the loop makes them the punishment for wrong calls: mishandling an anomaly, failing normal service, or letting customers come to harm. What's certain from official material: avoiding them is the stated objective, and the Flawless badge counts them per player across shifts.

  • What happens when you get a bad review?

Bad reviews land during the shift and are the failure metric. Stack enough of them and the shift is lost — the official material never publishes the exact count, so we will not invent one. A customer death deducts rating directly. Reviews are also tracked across shifts for Flawless (20 shifts with 0).

  • How do I avoid bad reviews in Spuddy's Anomaly?

Check every customer before serving (face, table, camera), learn the three badge-confirmed responses (feed the Table Monster, bat the Mimic, save attacked customers), keep serving normal customers promptly, and watch your Energy. Do not let an attack finish — a customer death deducts rating. For the Flawless badge you need 20 shifts with zero bad reviews, then claim the badge by hand.

  • How do you get the Flawless badge in Spuddy's Anomaly?

Complete 20 shifts with 0 bad reviews. The badge text does not say whether that is your first 20 or any clean run of 20, so the safe play is to treat every early shift as if it counts. Customer deaths deduct rating and will break the sheet. After the 20th clean shift, open the badge menu and claim it — conditions do not auto-award.
